Here I am in Florida, braving a torrential mist from the feeder bands of Hurrica.... er, uh, Tropical Storm Fay. It's over land now and not doing much. The wind is almost non-existent and the storm is now projected to take a very strange path that will take it across that state and out over the Atlantic around the Vero Beach area and then doubling back northwestward making landfill around Jacksonville, almost actively avoiding Orlando.

Not as crazy as the loop Ivan did a few years back, but interesting none the less. Glad I didn't stock up on canned goods.

When I saw the news last night and it showed the "hook" I was surprised. I don't think I ever saw that before. Well I'm glad to hear that it was not much of a burden on you and that all is status quo at the moment.
Just back from body surfing at Wrightsville Beach. Fay kicked up some awesome waves. Cowbunga! Gudes! One thing Islanders know is beach baby. Long live West End 2.
Day 3: Fay is park off the coast and dumping rain. Not much in the way of wind, but at 8:00 last night it started raining steadily here and is not expected to stop anytime soon. Brevard County might get 30 inches and flash flood warnings are in effect for eastern Orange County as well (luckily, we're at a higher elevation). It was black as night on my drive to work this morning, and after unnecessarily cancelling school for the last two days, school is back in session when the rotten weather really starts.
Day 4: Still raining.
