Does anyone remember the lawyer's office on the corner? That big green house.
What was the name of the bar right across the street from my house on the other side of Merrick road? I would listen to music from there on hot summer nights before the invention of air conditioning. 4 am trying to sleep, window open, listening to the stumbling drunks, and the Lynyrd Skynyrd music get louder and softer each time some one opened the door.
I can still play Defender with my eyes closed.
Just some topics for discussion.

Hi Dennis,
I remember the lawyer office. It was on the corner of Sunrise Ave. I thought it was blue. Didn't we film some of a monster movie there? The name of the bar across merrick road was "RamShacks". I did a good amount of drinking there between 1980 to 1983. Ah, Memories. Take care.
Jerry
Thanks Jerry. Ramshackles. That's right. Like pulling a lost file from inside my head and dusting it off- Ramshackles. I never went there because I thought my mom might see me out the window while folding laundry.
Ramshackle Pub, right?
And yes, we filmed part of the monster film in the old dilapidated garage on that property.
That bar had at least four names that I remember -
The Sour Grapes
The Lion's Den
Ramshackles
and finally the Outback Inn (after the popularity of Crocodile
Dundee) before closing for good.
They just don't make dive bars like that anymore.
