Calling all Prospect Place/Court and Sunrise Avenuers!

This is an attempt to connect with people from long, long, ago. Perhaps the connection will last one simple paragraph, never to be heard from again, or reignite to last a lifetime. Who knows. I just think it would be fun to catch up with people that share so many fond memories from childhood and beyond. Some of us already do still keep in touch. While some might be content to keep the past in the past. Either way. Lets see what happens.

Billy Joel and Elton: Face 2 Face

Saw the show last night. Really good. Billy comes out to the tune of Yankee Doodle and Elton walks on with that Buckingham Palace music playing. They then go through a half dozen duets of their combined songs before splitting into two separate mini-concerts delving deeper into their vast catalogue of material, before uniting again at the end for another round of duets and an encore duet performance of Piano Man.

Biggest surprises:

Elton - Funeral for a Friend / Love Lies Bleeding (sounded record-perfect)
Billy - Zanzabar (wtf?)

As I mentioned earlier, tickets were in the "Channelside Club", which is basically an entire private section of the third and fourth floors of the arena with comfy chairs multiple semi-free bars and several stations serving up prime rib, wings, fajitas, oriental chicken, empenadas, soups and salads, desserts, etc. It's pretty much like going to a concert on a cruise ship, and I'll be exploring the option again if any other shows come around that I or Dorothy want to see.

In the "friends don't let friends call drunk" section, I must apologize to Steve, whom I called during Billy's set to let him hear some of it. Unfortunately, the music was so loud, even as I retreated farther and farther into the lounge and away from the epicenter of the blast, I couldn't hear a thing and couldn't do much more than shout a few disconnected comments into the phone before giving up, since he sounded thoroughly annoyed. Oh well.

I think my wife has her camera with her, so maybe I'll find a picture or two to post later.
