Calling all Prospect Place/Court and Sunrise Avenuers!
This is an attempt to connect with people from long, long, ago. Perhaps the connection will last one simple paragraph, never to be heard from again, or reignite to last a lifetime. Who knows. I just think it would be fun to catch up with people that share so many fond memories from childhood and beyond. Some of us already do still keep in touch. While some might be content to keep the past in the past. Either way. Lets see what happens.

Awesome Steve. I've always wanted to do that but did not have the minerals. Then the whole JFK Jr. thing and I dropped the idea completely.
But I did feed marshmellows to an alligator- here

I should mention that I was in the backseat of this plane, which looked a lot like the back seat of a 1967 VW Beetle. I lost a few minerals myself.
This all occurred as a result of my deciding to become SCUBA certified. I mentioned to my son on Tuesday that I had always wanted to do it and now was the time. He replied that he always wanted to fly a plane. I knew of a local airport where they gave "Discover Flight" first lessons for $100 so I called up and made the appointment for yesterday. On Saturday, I told him, "Make sure you get some sleep tonight because you're flying a plane tomorrow."
That's my job: granting wishes and fulfilling dreams in 7 days or less.
On the way over the guy calls us and says, "Hey man, just thought I'd warn you the winds are really pickin' up. It's pretty hairy up there. Do you get motion sickness? If you like roller coasters and stuff you should be fine." I asked Steven, "Do you mind if it's bumpy?" He says, "No." I tell the guy, "We love roller coasters." Of course, they're usually atached to the ground.
We get there and the instructor / owner is a 26 year old kid who has been flying since 14. I figured he's going to fly it up, let Steven take the controls and then assume control for the landing.
Nah....
Steven drunkenly weaves the car down the taxiway and the kid tells him to floor it. He's saying, mMore throttle, more throtle, c'mon, it wants to take off!"
Holy Jesus H. I'm sitting in the back snapping pictures because it makes it less real.
He flew the plane around for 40 minutes over Lake Apopka and portions of Orange and Lake County before instructing Steven to take it down on final approach. As the runway appeared, waving back and forth in the window, Steven is saying, "Uhhh, I don't think I can do this", but the instructor just kept talking him through it (he also assisted this part a bit using his own steering yoke.) We came in too fast and bounced a few times before stopping. When it was over, the instructor says, "Do you guys smell burnt rubber or is it just me."
All in all, glad I survived - totally friggin awesome experience.
Now Katherine wants to do it.
Oh God.
And i thought letting my son pet the Sloth Bears at the last zoo I worked at was cool. This tops the top my friend. Now thats an AMAZING dad. Or a bit psycho but I will go with AMAZING. Great job for Steven. so now he wants a plane right.
Good luck with katherine. Any chance you're wife will take her up????
Dorothy is NOT interested.
I should also mention that I'm actually scared to fly and have only flown commercially 3 times in the past 21 years.
Flown 3 times in 21 years, and you get into a little cessna with your son piloting for THE FIRST TIME!!!!
Move over R.DowningJr, you are the true IRONMAN!!!!!!!!!! You must have been ******* gators ;-)
btw Steven, we are still looking into flying down for "roshiwanna" again. But we're going to Colorado on June 6th to visit cousins and friends until the 14th, and Dec 6th we're cruising again down to San Juan, St. Thomas etc, etc. So squeezing a trip in september will be tough, but we're hoping to do it, but no guarantees.
If, or when we do make our appearance, you will once again be in awe of how "biceptual" i have become. Your father was TRULY influential. When i saw him last year outside your home, and he said "O'Sullivan, look at you........ YOUR A FAT PIG!". Things began to change. I maxed out at 238, but have lost 27 lbs since November, and i am back in the gym, taking it one pound at a time. SOS WILL HIT THE BEACH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I lost 25 pounds myself, dropped to 165 but have added muscle back to 170. I guess "it's on" as they say.
p.s - I'm so glad you've lost the weight. Good for you.
I am proud that i have lost wieght, something i have never done before, but i still have a ways to go. The wieght is coming off everywhere but the belly it seems. You on the other hand were not fat, and now are less not fat;-)
